There is excitement in St. Lucie County and the Public Schools regarding the vision of the future for All
children and citizens. As a school board member, I am proud to have been an active participant in
designing the Research Coast and creating the focus on community and sustainability. Collaboration and
advocacy have started us on the path from a bedroom community to a dynamic area of innovation,
discovery and invention part of designing the pathways for all students. Being a leader in this effort is only
one of the reasons I am the Truly Qualified Candidate.
We are designing the pathways for all students to become life-long learners with critical thinking skills that
will translate to the workplace and/or post-secondary opportunities. I am proud to inform the public that all
key indicators of individual student success are on the rise. Children are so much more than an FCAT or
school grade. The examples of individual, school and district achievements are numerous and impressive.
St. Lucie Public Schools have regional, state and national winners of spelling bees, science fairs, academic
challenges, history fairs, vocal and instrumental competitions, career and technical competitions, and
athletics of all categories from all schools. Along with our students recognitions, the faculty, staff and
administration have received many state and national awards. The district is recognized around the globe
for innovation in technology, best business and financial practices, creative academic and career
academies, building efficient and "green" learning environments, and many others while always focusing
on success for all.
My passion is to see each child excited about learning and challenged to learn more by the engaging work
designed by the educators in preparation for success in the world and the Research Coast. All governments
working in unison with agriculture, business, economic development, universities, schools, and parents can
provide for a future of which only a few of us have dared to dream.
Advocating for and working with all facets of my community have given me focus and knowledge in
defining the issues and creating the pathways to make the vision a reality. I am the Truly Qualified
Candidate who is Committed to improvement for All Children and Our Community.
